Summary

Kep Merli Resort is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Chef to lead our culinary team and deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, ensure high culinary standards, design innovative menus, and manage food preparation and staff training. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone passionate about quality, sustainability, and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.

Key Responsibilities

Menu Development & Execution

  • Design and regularly update seasonal menus using local and fresh ingredients.
  • Innovate new dishes aligned with Kep Merli’s luxury and nature-integrated brand.
  • Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation across all dishes

Team Leadership & Staff Management

  • Lead, mentor, and train kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers.
  • Schedule kitchen team shifts and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Foster a positive and efficient working environment.

Kitchen Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Maintain the highest hygiene and safety standards according to HACCP.
  • Monitor and control inventory, food costs, and waste.
  • Oversee the preparation of staff meals.

Collaboration & Customer Satisfaction

  • Work closely with front-of-house, bar, and guest experience manager for a seamless guest experience.
  • Handle guest feedback regarding food and service when necessary.
  • Support special events, private dinners, and seasonal culinary experiences

Qualifications

  • 10 years proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a fine dining or luxury resort environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Mediterranean, seafood, and seasonal cuisine.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Formal culinary education preferred.
  • Fluent in Albanian and/or English
  • Commitment to excellence, detail-oriented, and passionate about food and hospitality.
